The movable distance before the rear brake engages is called brake pedal free play.

Proper rear brake pedal free play is 10-20mm. To adjust:

1. Loosen the rear brake rod lock nut.
2. Turn the adjuster nut clockwise to reduce play, counterclockwise to increase it.

Note: If the pedal travel is too large to adjust, the brake pads likely exceeded wear limits.
