Replace leaf spring bushings once wear is found.
On new vehicles or after reassembly, check U-bolts every 200km under load and evenly tighten nuts 2-3 times until 200km intervals are reached.
Leaf springs bear vehicle weight and absorb shocks from road irregularities. Inspect for cracks, wear and sagging periodically. Check bushing condition – dried, cracked or flattened bushings reduce function. Lubricate shackle pins and equalizer plates to prevent rust.
Test suspension bounce by pushing down on corners. Even rebound indicates good springs. Uneven or excessive bouncing points to damaged leaves or worn parts needing replacement. Keeping suspension in good condition improves comfort and control.
